Australian Space Agency funded

With the announcement of funding of the Australian Space Agency, the Australian Academy of Science chatted with ASTRO 3D Director Prof. Lisa Kewley, Associate Investigator Assoc. Prof. Alan Duffy and Affiliate Dr. Brad Tucker.

Alan Duffy says “It’s the economy of the future and quite frankly, it’s awesome.”

Lisa Kewley added “I think we can catch up. It’s never too late to join the space race.”

“I would say the will and desire has never been greater in any point in human history” says Brad Tucker.

The Australian Government announced in the 2018 Budget that they would establish an Australian Space Agency ($26 million over four years) and spend an additional $15 million over three years on an International Space Investment initiative to kick-start Australia’s space industry.
