ASTRO 3D is calling for White Papers for the Next Centre of Excellence for ASTRO 3D, with deadline Friday 8 May.

White Papers may include:

  • a science program (e.g., a survey, project, theoretical or other program) that could be included in a next Centre of Excellence for ASTRO 3D
  • an individual scientific topic of interest and proposed contribution of an individual to the next Centre of Excellence for ASTRO 3D
  • the vision for an entire Centre of Excellence to follow on from ASTRO 3D, including proposed new Director
  • the vision for an entire Centre of Excellence that is distinct from ASTRO 3D but builds on one or more ASTRO 3D programs, including proposed new Director

Any member of the Australian astronomical community may submit a white paper, irrespective of membership of ASTRO 3D. White papers should be no more than 4 pages, with the exception of new Centre visions which may be 6 pages. White papers should be produced on the attached template and should be emailed to director.astro3d@anu.edu.au by Friday 8 May.

White paper authors will be invited to take part in a series of discussions, beginning in May 2020 with the aim to identify the broad range of science and structure for the next Centre proposal following on from ASTRO 3D. If you would like to be notified of the discussion dates in advance of the April 30 deadline, please email director.astro3d@anu.edu.au to notify your intent to submit a white paper.

Questions should also be directed to director.astro3d@anu.edu.au.
