Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) have been central to ASTRO 3D’s mission, shaping its legacy as a leader in creating inclusive and equitable organisational and research culture. Since the establishment of the EDI Committee in 2018, the Centre has led initiatives to create a culture where people of all backgrounds and identities can contribute, grow, and succeed. Guided by strong framework under the 2019 Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan, the committee has championed fairness, respect, and opportunity for all.

Through targeted professional training—including active bystander, neurodiversity and cultural awareness workshops—and impactful policies like equitable hiring guidelines, codes of conduct, and carer funding support, ASTRO 3D has set a benchmark for inclusive practices in academia. Regular Climate Surveys and proactive and inclusive leadership have guided improvements, driving meaningful change. Notably, achieving gender parity stands as a significant milestone, highlighting ASTRO 3D’s commitment to balanced representation in science. These efforts, recognised with the Silver ASA Pleiades Awards, solidify ASTRO 3D’s legacy as a trailblazer in equity, diversity, and inclusion.
