Biography

Evans is a PhD student at the University of New South Wales Canberra on the grounds of the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA). He is working on the progenitors of type Ia supernovae using GALAH Data under the supervision of Ashley Ruiter as his primary supervisor. Evans is a lab demonstrator for 1st year physics and engineering students at ADFA. In addition, He is committed to promoting STEM education and initiatives. As a result, he serves in a variety of capacities volunteering with non-profits organizations (Member of the Advisory Board for Empowering Female Minds in STEM (EFeMS), One of the Directors at Global Lab Network (GLab), and a Project Reviewer for RISE - an initiative of Schmidt Futures and Rhodes Trust) around the world that seek to promote STEM for underrepresented groups as well as rural communities in Africa.
