Biography

I’m Stephanie Bernard, an Australian PhD student in observational astrophysics at the University of Melbourne. My research is on very bright galaxies in the very early universe – 500 million years after the Big Bang. I’m part of the Brightest of Reionising Galaxies (BoRG) survey using the Wide Field Camera 3 on the Hubble Space Telescope. Prior to my PhD, I completed a Bachelor of Science (Physics) and a Master of Science (Physics) at the University of Melbourne. My Masters research was externally supervised at the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing, Swinburne University of Technology.
