ASTRO 3D is excited to be presenting its final Science Meeting!
The Science Legacy Meeting is built around three keynote colloquia on our three original science themes: the evolution of mass and angular momentum, the chemical elements, and ionisation in the Universe.

Located in the stunning Sydney Harbour National Park, Q Station is surrounded by 30 hectares of Australian bushland and features panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and Manly Cove.
North Head is known as Car-rang-gel by the Gayamagal people and was once used by their Koradgee (medicine men and women healers) for spiritual ceremonies and rituals. Rock engravings, rock art, campsites, burials, and middens are reminders of the Gayamagal people’s connection to the area.
Getting there:
- By car: Arriving in Manly via Sydney Road, turn right to Belgrave St. Turn left at Manly Wharf. Take the second left (signposted North Head), turn right onto Darley Road and up the hill past Manly Hospital. Go through the stone arch, continue until you reach a roundabout and turn right into Q Station parking area.
Shuttle buses are available at Reception to transport you to your room. Use of personal vehicles is not permitted on the property. - By bus: 161 bus that operates between Manly and North Head. Call Sydney Buses on 131 500 for the latest timetable or visit website
- From the airport: The airport is located approximately 35 kms from Manly and the Q Station. Catch the Airport Link train to Central Quay, then the Manly Ferry to Manly Wharf. There is a complementary shuttle service from Manly to Q Station. Please meet at the pick-up/drop off zone, opposite the wharf, in front of the taxi stand. The shuttle leaves at 10.30 am.
On arrival:
- Guests are required to take their luggage with them to the conference room. Room keys will be brought to the conference room with afternoon tea by the front office team.
- Q Station shuttle bus can transport guests between car park, wharf and venues and accommodation.
The venue for the conference and most meals during the conference are covered by ASTRO 3D Central Funds.
Transport
Flights and/or car hire costs to get to the venue will be covered by ASTRO 3D Node Travel Funds – please use your Node travel approval process to access these.
Taxis/ride-share/public transport costs can either be reimbursed by Nodes using Node Travel Funds, or paid for by university purchase card (if you have one) and costed to Node Travel Funds.
Accommodation at Q Station
Costs will be covered by ASTRO 3D Node Travel Funds.
Meals
Breakfasts, morning teas, lunches, afternoon teas and dinners on Tuesday and Thursday nights are covered by ASTRO 3D Central funds.
