Research Interests - Galaxy groups, clusters, Optical / HI / X-ray observations, Stacking, Halo mass measurements My research project is to look at the baryon content in galaxy groups. For this, we aim to look at the various baryonic components - stellar, cold gas, hot gas - in a wide range of halo mass extending from low mass groups to even high mass clusters. As each of the baryonic component exists at a different temperature, density and environment, I will be using a range of multi-wavelength data for the study. We will be using optical data from surveys such as Galaxy and Mass Assembly (GAMA), HI data from latest radio surveys such as ASKAP-DINGO and previous surveys like ALFALFA, and x-ray observations from the eROSITA. I think my project integrates very well with the Science Goal 2 of ASTRO3D - Accumulation of Matter. Looking the various baryonic components at different halo masses would help to understand the distribution of baryonic matter in the dark matter halos. This will also help in studying the effects of environment on the evolution of galaxies that reside in these halos.
