Biography

I am an ARC Future Fellow and Associate Professor in astrophysics at UWA with a research focus on galaxy evolution theory. I obtained a Masters in theoretical physics at the Swiss EPFL in 2005, with a thesis on quantum dots. Shortly after, I moved to the UK to pursue a PhD in astrophysics at Oxford. Upon graduating in 2009, I choose to work on the development of electric cars in the private industry, before joining ICRAR/UWA as a faculty member in 2011. In parallel to my research in astrophysics, I am passionately committed to experimental research in microgravity with ESA. In this role, I have already served as a crew member on over 400 parabolic flight manoeuvres aboard the Airbus A300 and A310 zero-g. Privately, I enjoy a family life with three little boys.
