Biography
I specialise in distributed energy resource management within Accenture Utilities and am passionate about de-carbonising Australia's economy, the critical role of the Utilities sector to enable it, and the immense opportunities / technologies afforded by doing so. My work is currently focused on helping utilities make use of and facilitate the greater penetration of distributed energy resources (household solar PV and batteries, sub-transmission wind and solar generators and network assets) in providing grid control services, balancing supply and demand, and providing grid resilience during extreme events, amongst others. To do this I build and manage teams to deliver Strategy and IT transformation projects. I have a strong technical bent with a postgraduate physics degree and hands-on project management / solution architecture style. I like to get into the detail and what makes me tick is delivering change to leave the world a better place. I am lucky enough to live in Melbourne with three other housemates and my six-year-old boy in a 10-star home I designed and had built in Brunswick. My aim personally is to be resilient to climate-related or other disruptive events by being highly self-reliant in food, energy and water, and to be able to support rather than put demands on community infrastructure during those times.
