Biography
Rapid star formation in the bulges of spiral galaxies and in starburst galaxies, leads to regions of the interstellar medium that are higher in metals than typically found in the disk of spiral galaxies (such as our Milky Way). Stars formed out of such gas span a range in metallicities, with many of them super solar. These metal rich stars are one of the main sources of heavy elements, allowing us to address the question of the origin of matter and the periodic table of elements. In my research, I explore the physics of these metal-rich stars and their contributions toward the chemical evolution of galaxies.
