Biography

My name is Jocelyn Ware and I’m an Advanced Master's student at the Australian National University. I have a background in astrophysics and statistics which has allowed me to complete a wide range of research-based internships with Macquarie University, CSIRO(Energy), Data Central, Empower Pacific (Fiji based), and Australian Astronomical Optics. My astrophysics based internships revolved around data pipelines, spectral data, and big data while my statistics based internships focused on survey data and analysis. For my thesis, I am using KMOS and MUSE-WIDE data to calibrate UV metallicity diagnostics of early galaxies. This project originally used K3-LARS data that I cleaned using ESO fors2 pipeline and various Python packages.
