Biography

Matt Dodds is a High School Science teacher specialising in Physics. His mantra for teaching Physics is getting students to learn through doing whether it be analysing the spectra of stars to identify its chemical composition or observing various celestial objects with his students. Matt organised the 2019 Siding Spring Observatory Depth Study excursion which saw Yr. 12 students from several high schools visit the observatory and the online 2020 Online Depth Study event. He is on both Instagram and Twitter @ScienceWithMat. Matt is a teacher volunteer for ASTRO 3D and was recently selected to be one of the three National Astronomy Education Coordinators for the IAU Office of Astronomy Education. He can often be found travelling the country presenting at science teacher conferences and public outreach events.
