Biography
Meghna Menon is a Ph.D. student at Macquarie University, supervised by Dr. Devika Kamath. Her research focuses on understanding the production mechanism and distribution of s-process (or i-process) elements in the diverse class of both intrinsically and extrinsically enriched stars like post-AGB stars, CEMP stars, Barium stars, etc. For her current research, Meghna uses the high-resolution spectroscopic data from UVES on the Very Large Telescope of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) combined with state-of-the-art stellar evolution and nucleosynthesis models, to investigate the s-process enrichment in these chemically peculiar stars. This research would help in comprehending one of the key ASTRO 3D questions: “What is the origin of matter and the periodic table elements?”, since stars are the source of most of the elements.
