Biography
I'm Sruthi Suresh, an astrophysicist/astronomer, who completed my master's degree at Pondicherry University, specializing in Astrophysics. My master's thesis focused on simulating the torus structure of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs) using the SKIRT software, demonstrating my proficiency in computational astrophysics. During my studies, I did a mini project on data reduction of echelle spectra obtained from Vainu Bappu Observatory, India, using IRAF software. In my internship at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, I handled the MaNGA dataset, employing Python coding to investigate AGN feedback mechanisms. Currently, as a graduate researcher, I'm analyzing the 6dF Galaxy Survey (6DFGS) dataset to construct a comprehensive catalog of Type 2 AGNs, leveraging my skills in data analysis and Python programming. Before delving into research, I worked as a space educator for a year, where I gained valuable experience handling telescopes and engaging in astrophotography. This experience broadened my perspective and enhanced my practical understanding of astronomical instruments and techniques.
