Biography

Stefania Barsanti is a postdoc fellow at the Australian National University. Her research interests focus on galaxy evolution and understanding the role played by the environment. She uses the SAMI and Hector surveys to study the stellar populations of galaxies. I am a passionate storyteller from data to science with 9+ years of experience. I am a curious learner and an original problem solver, with a detailed eye for plot twists and surprise endings. I acquire, process and analyze complex big datasets, with a specialized expertise in Space Science, holding a Ph.D. in Astrophysics. These can be numbers, images or 3D datacubes. I apply mathematical modelling, machine learning algorithms and statistical tools to answer questions and predict hypotheses. I am a ferocious coder (Python, R), kindly adaptable to the problem. I am an oral, visual (2D & 3D) and written communicator, challenging myself in sharing my results with different audiences.
