Biography
I'm a PhD student at the RSAA working with Drs François Rigaut, Ken Freeman, David Yong, and Trevor Mendel on a joint instrumentation and science PhD. Prior to this, I completed my honours degree in physics and astronomy with a minor in mechanical engineering from the University of Victoria, Canada. My scientific research is mainly in the fields of near-field cosmology, galactic archaeology, and galactic dynamics. I'm currently looking at the origin and evolution of globular clusters through studying their chemodynamics using high-resolution spectra. Some outstanding questions I'm investigating involve the chemical (in)homogeneity of globular clusters, with implications for chemical tagging and the dark matter content of peculiar globular clusters. On the instrumentation side, I'm part of the astrometric working group for the next generation ESO instrument MAVIS, the first wide-field adaptive optics system (MCAO) to operate in the visible.
