Biography
I am a Galactic Archaeologist, trying to find out how our own Galaxy, the Milky Way, formed and evolved. After doing my PhD at MPIA in German, I moved to the ANU to continue my research to disentangle our Galactic history. We can use stars, which are typically born millions and billions of years ago and lived through the evolution of the Galaxy, as time capsules to "travel". More specifically we can use the light of these stars, by observing spectra and measuring absorption features of different elements in them, to estimate the chemical composition of these stars. I am doing this as spectrum analyst of the Galactic Archaeology with HERMES (GALAH) Survey.
