Biography
I'm a Stromlo Fellow at Mt Stromlo Observatory, the Research School for Astronomy and Astrophysics at ANU, where I study the properties of the most ancient stars. The heavy elements that we see in stars today were all created through stellar nucleosynthesis in long dead stars, so by measuring the contents of stars alive today, we can infer the properties of our Galaxy in the distant past. My work focuses on methods that allow us to accurately assess the chemical composition of stars through spectroscopy, using theoretical 3D radiative transfer calculations.
