Biography
I studied Physics (B.Sc.) at the Universidad de las Américas-Puebla (UDLA), Mexico, after which I moved to Germany, and obtained my Masters Degree (M.Sc) in Physics and later my Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Dr.rer.nat) in Astrophysics from the Georg-August Universität zu Göttingen. I spent a few years as a teaching assistant, and later as a research associate at the Institut für Physik und Astronomie of the Universität Potsdam in the Extragalactic Astrophysics group, lead by Philipp Richter, in close collaboration with Joop Schaye from the Leiden Observatory. I am a research affiliate in the group lead by ARC Laureate Fellow Prof. Joss Bland-Hawthorn. Currently I hold a research fellowship as part of the Grand Challenge Programm, working on a joint project between SIfA and the Centre for Integrated Sustainability Analysis (ISA) with a view to identifying and stamping out Modern Slavery.
