Biography

Dr. Westmeier is a radio astronomer at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR). His research interests include the study of neutral hydrogen gas in the Milky Way and beyond with the aim to understand its role in the structure and evolution of galaxies. He is involved in several large survey science projects that are currently being carried out with the Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP) and other radio telescopes around the world. He is also interested in the automated detection and parameterisation of galaxies in radio astronomical surveys.
